On Wednesday, Lucas had a followup appointment with Dr. Egan (esophagus surgeon). Dr. Egan had a big smile on his face when he saw Lucas. He could not believe this little chunker was the same preemie he performed surgery on back in May. Normally, esophagus repair babies have such extreme feeding issues that they need a feeding tube or barely eat so they are much smaller. Not Lucas! He loves to eat. Plus he is showing vast improvement with breathing during feeds. Lucas is now 12 lbs & 10 ozs.
Breaking news! During the last two evenings, Lucas slept more than 5 hours at a time. We’re finally getting sleep!
